Hello all,

Interested in a second hand Quattroporte, probably a 2004 or 2005, and wondered if anyone is running one at the moment and give me a feel for their reliability? Currently have a 993/911 and a Mazda so slightly concerned a Maserati could be a rude shock when it comes to servicing and generally keeping it on the road!

Thanks,

Giles

The only real issue to be aware of with the older QP's is the Duo-select gearbox, which can be a bit heavy on the clutch and can have a few F1 pump problems. Other than that they are generally very reliable provided they have been looked after. Service is probably between £700-£1000 depending on which one and where you go. Parts can be expensive so a good aftermarket warranty should help give some peace of mind. Otherwise I have nothing but praise for them as ownership propositions, have run mine for nearly a year without any issues. Choose a good one and you won't regret it - good luck.
