Is this a one off film or a new series? Its looks like what Enterprise should have been.

Looks good though.

New film - huge budget. Looks like a complete franchise reboot. Undoubtedly the first of a new film series.

And apparently the advance from the very few who have seen it is awesome.

Looks terrible. I know it's only a two minute trailer, but they appear to have made a generic space film that just happens to be Star Trek branded and has nothing to do with the character of the TV programmes or the previous films.

It's a "re-imagining" - like the new Batman films.

Fine by me, and I have been a serious fan in my time.

OK Seriously..
..looks pretty good, certainly better than the 'Next Generation' movies we've had to put up with....
woohoo

Looks like they have written the script to really show off Kirk's impulsive/dangerous nature. (from the looks of the trailer bites) smokin

Although at the same time...why can't they be fighting the Klingons/Cardassians/Romuleans? (excuse the spelling) the baddies look like another bunch of generic 'unknown' aliens

yes Without a total redesign the Trek franchise would be totally dead.

looks good, even better that kirk is no longer coming on as a cameo roles, so new people and new action, plenty of past episodes for the purists to go and rewatch smile

Is it meant to be the original lot but just younger actors? (I don't have sound!). Looks like some of the effects are cool but some look a bit poor.

hmmmm.....OK the last TNG film 'Nemisis'?...was fairly good ..Data dying and what not.
but the 1st was really poor as was the 3rd.
2nd was only good cause of the whole '1st contact/warp drive' plot

Well, First Contact was good. The rest were, er... not so good.

However, many of the feature length episodes such as Best of Both Worlds and All Good Things were like movies and superb.
