Yep, although Im one of many who don't rate him as a TV commentator (although didnt have the loathing some do), Ive always found his written journalism on the ITV website quite informative. He obviously knows his stuff and has good contacts in the industry, it just doesnt convey particularly well when he's commentating.

I actually found all the James Allen baiting to be quite childish, if I'm honest. I appreciate that he could be a bit over-enthusiastic for some tastes, but he is a genuine fan of the sport. It was a shame he ended up in Murray's shadow. I'll check this out when I have a bit more time.

I was having a similar conversation about his website with someone at the weekend.

Much as he may be an utter penis in commentary, his website is actually well informed, knowledgeable and well written.

Credit where credit's due.

In similar news - has anyone seen the Jake Humphrey blog on the Beeb F1 website. Looks like he's going to take his criticism on the chin, and is aking for feedback from the likes of us as to how to improve coverage.

Looks like it's going to be fairly interactive, if a little low-brow.

That the G-forces in an F1 car would triple the weight of your head, so would feel like having a labrador on your head. Can't see the problem personally, his job was to explain what was going on to non techy people and most people can imagine the weight of a labrador much easier than the weight of 3 times your head.

Something that weighs about 20kg that most people will know the weight of maybe? (I said 3G cornering but it's actually 5G)
