I've had my lovely sparco suede snap-off wheel fitted for about 8 months now and due to being an everyday motor and my oft sweaty palms its starting to get a bit shiney and lose its 'newness'. Think its time for a clean. Any suggestions? I notice that there is some spray suede cleaner in Morrisons, which seems to be solvent based. We've got a suede brush somewhere as well. Whats the best procedure?

I have exactly the same wheel and snap-off kit on my car, would be interested to know. And if 'shiny' suede is not easy to return to 'as-new' condition, these steering wheels aren't expensive and can be easily replaced without having all the palaver of removing the snap-off boss, etc.

Mine is red so got a little grubby. On advice from somewhere else (I forget where) I cleaned it with some diluted Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner. Came up a treat.

I bought some Kiwi (as in the shoe polish maker) 'suede and nubuck cleaner' in 'neutral' from Morrisons and have just had a go, its done the trick very well.

The can comes with a strange 'comb' top which I used to rough up the suede before application, its no where near as harsh as a suede brush and worked well. Then I sprayed with the stuff and then rubbed it up again, and its back to pretty much looking like new now.

Recommended for a few quid outlay.
