Whenever I turn the TV on these days, Richard Hammond is there.

Don't get me wrong, I like his part in Top Gear, but all the rest of the stuff he is now doing..... well it's too much!

Hammond - stick to TG please!

He's only topping up the pension fund whilst the sun shines, you can't blame him for that. Although he does remain an utter cock of the highest order imho.

Even Top Gear is too much for him if he can't remeber to breath and speak at the same time. God that gasp for breath at the end of each sentance irritates me.

He should know better. PH gave a tenner, and now effectivley own him and all of his future output.

The reason I think he can be a bellend is that he tries to ape clarkson too much. When he's on his own he seems an affable likeable enough presenter to me.

When we watch stuff on sky+ we tend to start 15 minutes in to give us "advert credit".
My missus has started calling it "Hammond Credit" so we can skip him.

I wish he didn't present the engineering connections show like an immature school boy. It's a decent program ruined by him hamming up the experiments with childish jibes and fake excitement. Just for one in your life Richard behave like an adult.

I normally don't mind him but that show he does on a Saturday night with the contestants tackling water obstacles really grips my st.

Why do they bother having him twittering away like an idiot in a studio when all the contestants are in Argentina?

I saw him on a kids TV show wearing a leather trench coat and looking like a nazi gimp from WW2.
Clarkson and May must be pissing themselves.

He's just making the best of what he does. I believe he is a hard working man who wants to maximise on profits, what would you do in his shoes? JMHO really. It shouldn't irritate if he (admittedly) isn't as good a presenter as some.

I don't watch a huge amount of tv (other than TG & F1 of course), but I caught something last night about some gas drilling rig in the North Sea and I thought it was really quite interesting. Can't speak for the rest of his stuff...

I've seen bits of that series - last week's was about mirrors for really big telescopes, if I recall.

It was dumbed down to the highest order. Very thin on content and, the aspect that really winds me up, the same points repeated over and over again - within the space of minutes.

When Horizon went this way, I had to give up watching because it just became too frustrating. I am capable of remembering new information for more than a couple of minutes...

The last bastion of good quality science reporting on the BBC seems to be Thinking Allowed (geddit?) on Radio 4, all IMHO of course.

True, it is so dumbed down it's unwatchable. The James May programmes that he did for the OU are far better.

He does anything on tv doesnt he?

I know all his gushing fans think he's just doing his job but wouldn't he be better off increasing his tv shelf life by doing less of the rubbish cash in stuff before he ends up with everyone being sick of him.

To me he has become like Linda Barker.

I really like him, however I do think he is best sticking to Top Gear, probably just because Hammond, May and Clarkson all work well together.. Can't say I blame him making the most of the work while it's there though wink
