Just reading through the threads on NSL reduction and realised this could have a dramtic affect on sports like road rallying. I know its run to a 30mph average but thats pretty hard to average unless you can do 60. Also could have an affect on club events such as nav rallies etc. I know its very much a minority sport now but still very popular in my part of thw world! I know in practice a reduction wouldn't make much difference but if the MSA in towing the road safety line decide to decrease the average speed to 20 mph or similar then road rallying will turn into trudle round the country at 40 mph pursuit.
Any other road rally enthusiasts worried?

In the mid-60's there was a blanket 50 mph limit applied at weekends during the Summer months (by a Labour Gov't and for road-safety reasons - it didn't work!). The RAC, as the MSA was then, lowered the maximum average speed for rallies to 25 mph on those weekends, for all the good that did as we had 'Targa' timing back then, if you know what that was.
However, one might feel that a blanket 50 limit will spell the end for the traditional road rally as we know and love it.
