As you may know I’m trying to iron out a few niggles on my well used Tasmin 200.

Does anyone have an early model circa 1982 rev counter they would be willing to part with? My car stated life with a 4 cylinder engine but now has a V6 which is making the rev counter over read. Or can this be recalibrated?

I also need an indicator switch, which I believe is a TR7 part? And a pair of OE front springs for a 280.

Thanks

BDL.

BDL,
Have you checked the back of the rev counter to see if there is a switch on it that let's you change from 4 to 6 cyl?

The indicator switch/stalk assembly will be TR7. Moss list the switch in the PDF available here. http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/TriumphTR7.aspx

The springs will be avaialble from RT Racing (formally Wedge Automotive).http://www.rtracing.co.uk/

It would be cheaper to pick up a second hand Rev Conter from a V6, so you need to find someone who is breaking one. Maybe Douglas Valley can help. If you do need to get it recalibrated then these guys can help. http://www.speedycables.com/
They converted my Rev Counter when I put in the Cosworth Engine with ECU (it runs off an output from the ECU rather than the coil).

John Reid (Grantura Engineering) has a lot of old rev counters and other gauges that came from the factory when it closed down. There were at least 20 rev counters and the majority were new. None were for a V8 when I was looking 5 months ago, all V6 and four cylinder, Johns numbers are Telephone: 0779 911 7211 Fax: 01253 398341

TVRleigh_BBWR, thanks for the offer but I don't want you to break the car on my account and I don't have room for another car! Maybe someone else will buy it as a project?
