(This is already set up on SELOC)

For all those with a Lotus who want to take part in this exclusive SUMMER trackday at the Ring.

We need 50 cars to take part to make this a goer. There are NO deviations in the booking, if you want to come along, you have to stay at the hotel I'm afraid GMBH rules.

Bearing in mind RMA days are usually £700 for 2 days in November, without a hotel etc, this does represent reasonable value. Not to mention you get a trackwalk & dinner throwm in too.

Nürburgring Nordschleife Lotus-only Track Day (updated!) - 31st.Jul.09 (Fri)

Hi all,

After much to-ing and fro-ing over the past months working with Dale from RSR Nürburg (http://www.rsrnurburg.com/), we now have a programme and prices for the first-ever Lotus-only trackday at the (in!)famous Nürburgring Nordschleife:

Thursday 30th July 2009
After 12.00pm: check-in at new hotel, Nürburgring Resort. No photos yet as it's still being built! But this is top of the line, it's apparently above and beyond the Dorint
5.15pm: Touristfahrt begins (REALLY not recommended to drive this, as you’d kick yourself if you crashed or somebody crashed into you, the night before you’ve got the Trackday! But we can organise taxi laps for those eager to join the fray)
7.15pm: Bespoke trackwalk for the entire group, normally this on-track walky-talky lesson uses mini-busses from point-to-point. However, for you guys we’ve managed to organise permission for your cars to come on track with us. This could be a record for the most Lotuseseses on track at once, and will certainly make a good photo!
9pm: Group dinner at new Nürburgring restaurant. Nice Steak-based menu with the usual starters and options...

Friday 31st
7.00am: Sign-on at Nordschleife entrance.
7.30am: Briefing
8.00am: Convoy sighting laps with RSR instructors leading small groups.
9.00am: free lapping begins
12.45pm: last lap
1.00pm -5.00pm: OPTIONAL (+€495) open pitlane on Nordschleife. For intermediates and above, minimum! Sharing with real race cars! Will be great for specatating and we will be offering taxi laps in our GT3 Cup car during this session.
5.15pm-7.30pm: Touristfahrt, just in case you have any tyres, fuel or energy left! Again, taxi laps available.

Price of €499 includes:
Trackwalk (Thursday 30th)
Evening meal for one (Thursday 30th)
1 night accommodation (Thursday 30th) based on sharing with 1 other driver
Exclusive Lotus Trackday entry, including 1hr of group training (8am-9am)

Extra options

+€99 for single room supplement
+€199 for guest meal and sharing your room

+€99 for extra nights accommodation (based on sharing with another driver)
+€199 for extra nights accommodation (double room)

+€125per hour Private instructor from us
+€495 for 1300-1700 trackday entry
+€695 for 1300-1700 trackday entry and DMSB National A license exam

+€125 for Clio 197 Cup taxi lap
+€145 for Megane R26.R taxi lap
+€175 for GT3 Cup taxi lap

For more information, contact RSR Nürburg.

It seems a bit expensive although the eventy itself looks great _ with regard to price we run a four day trip inclusive of ferry crossings and a hotel for £350/car [half the price mentioned above] and we're going two weeks earlier. There seems to be a fair bit of profit built in [albeit we do not offer track walks or ring taxis in with our price] The optional add ons are quite nice though. These are small group journeys limited to 10 cars.

To be honest think its a fair price, especially considering the Hotel, Track walk and meal.

When you consider a lap with everman and his dog is over €20, well worth just having less traffic and idiots abouts.

Anyone thinking of going, I am very tempetd...

sorry to question this but!

we are talking 499Euro for half a day at the ring with hotel - seems like a good deal...

however, the same again for the afternoon (shared time) seems a little stiff...

Could well be up for this....

Just to clarify, it'd be 700 euros for we and the wife if she doesn't drive????

Also, anyone know the costs to get there? Ferry, fuel etc....

Ferry is very cheap, Norfolkline is pretty cheap and sets you on the right track, my preffered choice is seafrance, better to get the car on, better food, and discount with Seloc (Sometimes cheaper online). Around about €40 rtn and upwards, book in advance and it is cheap.

Then about 3.5 hours to the ring and well depending on MPG etc I would estimate around tank and a bit.

Best upgrade for the Elise is getting the ferry ticket, so much better in Europe...

So lets get this straight, you can run a private trackday on the ring for less money? With respect, I very much doubt it.

I think you're referring to tourist days, which this isn't. If indeed you're not, then please let us know the full details of what you offer!

Price wise, I personally could do with it being cheaper, but that's the price and really it's very good value for money, bearing in mind the only other private ring option open to us that I know of, being RMA.

Anyway, Just trying to let Lotus owners know of the event.

I'm interested. Sounds good value to me when it includes food and hotel on thurs. It would be like an English invasion of Germany! I'd love to see a lotus infested 'ring. Are Caterham 7's allowed?

Easy boy, no need to get so worked up.

I never siad it was a private event which is also why I said it was an interesting trip that was organised, but at twice the price am I bothered by the exclusivity. No and I'm there for over two days driving for half the price, so I can go back again later in the year for another couple of days.

It's not currently open to other marques, but I have suggested opening it up to Caterhams.

Perhaps you could post something on Blatchat or something and get an idea of numbers o see who would definitely be interested and then let me know by posting up here.

If it can be opened up then I can let the organisor know the number of Caterhams who would want to come along.

I'm not getting worked up, I can assure yousmile I'm merely stating that comparing a tourist day to a private trackday, isn't comparing apples with apples. So it becomes irrelevant and gives a false impression of the costs. You also mention a fair bit of profit being made.

I have no idea how much is being made, but if you consider whats on offer, then it does actually represent good value if you can afford the outlay.

Personally I would prefer to be in the Ringhaus or other cheaper hotels, but that's the deal I'm afraid, and the Ring stipulated that if it was to be held in July, we had use this new hotel.
