This summer will be my final summer holiday before I graduate next year. Unfortunately my money situation isn't looking too bright right now so I'm going to have to get a job to get me through my final year without entering my overdraft. I didn't apply for any summer placements because I decided to concentrate on revision for my exams instead - however, this has left me with fewer options on what to do this summer and I don't particularly fancy my local supermarket although that is an option - therefore, I'm putting it to PH - what jobs could I do this summer - aim is maximum income and obviously something enjoyable is better but I'm prepared to put up with something slightly boring if it pays well!!
I will have accomodation in Bude, Cornwall, and Bath and am prepared to work within commuting distance of either, anywhere else, the income will have to be offset against the extra rental costs which probably won't make it worthwhile although I have relatives in London and Cambridge so they're both options too.....
Thanks in advance, Arry.

I got my last summer job by emailing a company I had worked with through a uni programme the year before, asking if they had any summer opportunities. The director replied positively and asked me to go in for a chat. I was taken on to do various projects over the summer, was offered a permanent part time position when I went back to uni and I'm now likely to be offered a full time position when I graduate.
In short - fire off some emails to any contacts you have and ask if they have anything available for the summer.

My previous summer jobs have included:
Green Keeper on a golf course. Great fun driving all sorts of machinery around. Pay was ok I suppose, manual labour was excellent. You dont need any qualifications to mow a lawn or rake a bunker.
Sailing Instructor - have travelled around Europe a bit teaching (pay rubbish but experience awesome) and have hit the jackpot where I work now in my holidays, £13/hr!
Have seriously looked into car washing or window cleaning rounds before. Cost you next to nothing to set up, go round knocking on doors, work your own hours and earn a fair amount of money in the sun. Do a reasonable job and word will spread in local neighbourhoods etc.
One of my mates drives a truck around for Boots in his holidays - about £9/hr, fairly easy money. Others have worked on building sites, farms etc. They put the hours in and reap the rewards.
Think outside the box a little, for example one of my other friends goes back to our old school in the summer holidays to help the caretaker out doing odd jobs like painting, moving stuff etc. Earns quite a bit, all cash in hand. He got that job just by staying in touch with one of our old teachers.
