Gave my 335i the annual make-over of Autoglym super resin followed by the Autoglym high gloss shine. Not sure which product did the mishap but the rear BMW badge has some awful tarnished areas all around the badge and the shiny silver ring around it has become dull and has a funny layer over it which makes you tempted to scratch at. The black areas of the emblem also seem discoloured but there is no obvious layer to it - almost gone through? Have I done some permanent damage or are there any cures for this problem. I await your answers before heading for Halfords.

Possible water damage to the lacquer! Replacement badges are not very expensive, but I would be careful what you rub across a badge be it a well known product or something more obscure.

Can do better re products than Halfords tbh!
