Unused 2008 F1 tyres?

The Mrs and I were wondering if theres a stock of unused 2008 spec F1 tyres. And if there are. What are they going to do with them! It's not like any other series would want them...would they?

I think I remember reading an article on F1 tyres - they all get destroyed I think.

I've got a fun way of doing that if you've got a spare F1 car?

I doubt they ever build up much stock as such as they are always changing

As the compounds that they take to each race change, then I always presumed that Bridgestone made the tyres in the week building up to the Grand Prix. There could be a stock for testing, but I would doubt they had a massive store of hundreds of F1 tyres.

A few years ago when the tyre war with Michelin was in full swing, they used to make them in batches several weeks before each race or group of races (as they can't react that quickly). But now it's just Bridgestone, they only have 4 stock compounds which they can churn out in much larger batches. Compounds for all the races this year have already been decided.

Any old stock from last year will have been destroyed. They don't allow the teams to keep hold of any tyres from the previous year.

At a test Bridgestone get through around 400 sets of tyres in total. It used to be a LOT more before the current restrictions on testing.
