They definately aren't spiders - they only had 6 legs and then some weird feeler things at the front.

I was more disturbed by the fact she was strangely licking them first before she could actually put them in her mouth!!

They are spiders smile More precisely whip spiders, they live in the insides of fallen and rotting trees in certain rainforests.

What rubbish, how would you even know that!

If you ate the spider in your sleep

1) You wouldn't know (so wouldn't tell anyone, so no-one else would know)
2) There is no one watching you eat spiders to log the results to arrive at this completely arbitrary figure of 8.

And how can it be at least eight. It would be on average eight if anything, but claypigeon60's link seems to show its not true at all.

I think I'm going to be sick.....hurl I could't even look at one let alone pick it up and stick it in my mouth. As for those of you who point out that we consume some in our sleep, I REALLY didn't need to know that - Thanks

I'm curious to know what they taste like raw. After all, deep fried crickets and the like tend to have quite a nutty flavour and are really quite pleasant.

I don't know why people get squeamish when it comes to eating insects, most people like crab, prawns and lobster don't they? These are just crustaceans and are not that different to the things that live on land.

Have eaten a bird spider, deep fried in Cambodia (typical toursit thing to do!). Not too bad actually, given the amount of chilli in the oil it was fried in. Did avoid the abdomen though - aparently this can be a bit of a magical mystery tour, from guts to intesntines, to spider poo to eggs...
