Guys,

Need your help once again!

I have got a 55 V8 which a Aston delaer is telling me requires a 30K service, even though the milage is at 20500, now am i missing something here???
The car was last serviced at 18719 back end of last year so would of thought it wasnt due for a while yet.
They have told me its because the year comes before the age if this makes sense?

What is the servicing periods of milage and year?
Also if the 30K service is needed is £820 +Vat good for a London dealer?

Thanks in advance!!!

its every 10K or every year - e.g. my Jan 06 car has done 35K miles now, and due its 4 year/40K service so yeah, they are right

price is quite "reasonable" for a London based dealer, if thats convenient to you ...personally mines going to a specialist nowadays and will be under half that wink

Why not go to Aston Martin Cambridge for the service? Nice run up the A1, through the Hatfield tunnnel, A505 through the Weson Hills tunnel, then A10 to Harston.

Book in advance and you can get a courtesy car. This may just be me, but I can find any excuse for a blast of the V8 in a tunnel!!!!

It seems to me that if your car was serviced late in 2008 then the next service ought to be the earlier of late 2009 or 10,000 miles after the last service.

TWELVE MONTHS OR 10K WHICHEVER COMES THE SOONER . CLEARLY YOUR RELATVE LOW MILEAGE MEANS THIS IS NOT THE TRIGGER , SO THE DUE DATE WOULD BE ON TIME ALONE THERFORE END OF 09 .

Just had my 04/06 V8 serviced by http://www.derbymotorservices.com/ £445 +vat, I know they are in Derby but like one of the other posts a good excuse for drive plus as documented elsewhere you could always make an overnight of it. We stayed at http://www.cathedralquarterhotel.com/ very nice plus a small spa and good restaurant, so service night away and a good meal all for less than Main Dealer service.

BTW, I've no connection with either just a satisfied customer. Who will be going back hopefully next year in better weather loads of sbow this time!

Cheers guys for the responses!
I have got maufactures warranty so by going to Derby would this muck up my warranty?
I know they will not be able to carry out any warranty repairs how ever could they provide a report
and then go off to offical for the warranty work?
Makes me sound like a right skinflint!

also used rick, i was concerned about my warranty, but after some advice had mine serviced there, i got a full report, rick told me about a few warranty issues just minor things like the centre caps had gone milky around the edges, they recommended hmw, who sorted out the issues no problem, i will be taking the trip up north for my next service, it is not just the cost it is the way i was dealt with,

Being a 55reg the car was registered between Sep '05 and Feb'06.

Assuming your car is a Nov/Dec 05 car, it should have had its 3rd service (30,000 mile service) during Nov/Dec 08. The next service should be 4 year/40,000 mile service next Nov/Dec.
Therefore in your service book you should have 3 service stamps + PDI service stamp.

Is this so?

If this is not the case then your car has missed a service!

I would highly recommend Rick at Derby.
Your waranty will NOT be effected, therefore you can get your warantee work done at HWM.

Hope this helps.
