My mates 320i has just lost its traction control system. Its over £1500 to sort. The dealership have stated that they have had a few go (the car is low mileage in private hands). They have 'twisted' BMW's arm to cover the cost of the part leaving him to pick up the £300 labour.

Has anyone else had experience of this part failing - and the response they got ? If they are replacing quite a few it seems poor that they aren't covering the cost of the labour as well. Its not a part that you would expect to go - at least until the car is getting on - not at three years.

And yes - its just out of warranty - just !

I just bought mine and it comes with 3 years unlimited mileage warranty... So how can it be not at 3 years and just out of warranty?

Interpretation of my Yorkshire english !

You would no expect the part to go so young - three years and 20,000 miles is nothing !

Its three years and two months !
