5 Threadneedle Street, any good?
Discussion
Just ended up booking a weekend here for Mrs BP and myself via lastminute top secret deals. Anybody know anything about the hotel and any decent restaurants/bars in the surrounding area. Its been a long time since the Mrs and I have been in London together so any recommendations would be much appreciated. Except for recommendations about Oxo towers, as I can point out were married, so that ended a long time ago

No.1 Lombard St? = very nice bar/restaurant, though frequented by rahs in suits and suitably pricey.

If you are staying over the weekend, at least you will get a good nights sleep as the City is as dead as a dodo over the weekend.
Fortunately, the tube is a couple of minutes walk and it's ony a couple of stops into the west end, where you will find more bars and restaurants than you can shake a stick at.
Lcally, you have got London Dungeons, HMS Belfast and St. pauls. Food wise, there is Rhodes in Tower 42

I cannot recommend that hotel enough! We went for my 18th birthday and had a suite (which are very cheap at weekends) the service and suite is truly 5* and I have stayed at other places with 5*'s that do not come close to this hotel.
It has a magnificent entrance hall as well with this huge rug and big glass dome roof that is very impressive. The suites all have huge balconies as well and I mean huge!!!
But yeah at the weekend the city is dead, good for a hoon but not a trip with the gf. Some nice restaurants nearby but nightlife is a taxi away.
Fab hotel though!
