I really have got to do this in 2009. (I can hear the chain... guess the cha*p plastic skid has disintigrated)
Changed the 2ndry ones which were in a terrible condition back in 2005, the job was easy enough but what about the primary one?
Has anyone done it recently? How much of the front of the car can be removed to do it? A quick look suggests that all I'll need to do is remove the bonnet and the radiators then I can easly get down to remove the timing cover ets and get on with the job.

We are now into the 3rd / 4th generation ones so best to do them all again

If you can hear them do them now before you want to purchase an engine from me.

I put 2nd generation ones in when I did the 2ndry tensioners, the primary still has the original, thats what I has hear. The 2ndry ones are fine although I may fit the aluminium type if I feel like it. To be honest I hardly ever use the car, in the last year it has done about 800miles!
See my profile for photo of the old 2ndry tensioners!
