HD DVD Playback Software

Can anyone suggest some decent software that can playback both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD's which will output the audio in 5.1? (This is for a Vista Media Centre)

I have been trying to use PowerDVD 7.3 but have not been able get the software to work correctly - It will not access HD-DVD menu's correctly (You have to guess where the cursor is) and it will not output the audio as 5.1 (all DVD types). All other apps have no problems with 5.1 audio apart from this.

I have already wasted my money buying version 8 in error to find out that PowerDVD no longer supports HD-DVD and their 'support' is worse than useless - I asked them if I could exchange v8 for v7.3 and was just told that "Yes, you can install both on the same machine"

This will get Powerdvd 8 to play HD DVD's or look for a nice neat hack off a torrent site or similar

Many thanks for that suggestion, but it is reported that it won't work after any updates to the software (Although I will still be trying it!)

Why did I foolishly head down the HD-DVD route in the first place???

I use PowerDVD 7.3 myself, and get 5.1 output over HDMI, but if you are having problems there are a couple of other options...
