My car had been playing up and i did suspect the yellow connector block under the steering column .
This has been flagged up on the forum before and is an easy thing to check .

I booked the car into an auto electrician but when i tried to run it down to his workshop it wouldn't start , i checked the yellow block and the wires fell out . I lashed it up and the auto electrician has tided up the whole area , all the wiring seemed a bit brittle . Cost was £60
Just the MOT before Chatsworth , fingers crossed .

Glad you've got it sorted Dale smile

Seeing as you're not a million miles from me, for future reference can you let me have the details of the auto electrician you used?

Thanks, Longers
