Does anyone know where I can get a set of chrome or ally trim rings for my dash gauges? I would need 2 big 'uns (89/76mm OD/ID) and 5 small (58/48mm OD/ID) to fit my early griff - does anybody know if they're the same size as wedges - I've seen/read that trim rings are available for the wedges - where/who from???? - any help would be much appreciated 'cos I asked Santa for 'em in my letter to Lapland, but he's as clueless as I am...

I thought Leven (advertisers here) did them, but can't find them on their website, so my memory is probably faulty (again!) - Streaky

Well, according to the pictures on the Leven website, the cars have ali rings round the dials, and if leven aren't selling them then I can only assume they are standard.

Maybe try a dealers, or a fabrication company, get some made up.

Griffs from about '95-96 have ally rings built into the gauges - full new set of gauges a bit pricey even s/hand, also there's nothing listed on the Leven website, but you never know - I'll give Leven a 'ring' (haha) tomorrow and see what they can come up with. Thanks anyway. Hopefully Leven aren't wedge owners or I'll HAVE TO SHOUT...

Yeah, come on, spill the beans!!! The set on EBay is what started me thinking - but I missed them due to being in Tenerife (now that IS TVR weather...) - they sold for £30 I think. If someone has had some made, that would be ideal, provided they're the right size...

Yep I got some from Karl.

They were something like £30 for the lot (bargain!).
I also got an ally gear knob and hadbrake handle from him.

He has an immaculate red SEAC and is a really nice bloke.

Ha-haaaa, I'm going in the right direction then - I looked thru the wedge pages last night and e-mailed the self-same Karl Cordwell - I might be in with a chance!
Also just got off the phone from Speedy Cables, the bloke that knows about TVRs has gone home, but is back tomorrow - they supplied TVR originally, so may be able to get me some later Griff rings...

When you next speak to him, tell him the index.htm(l) file is missing from his website - Streaky

Yep, just got a very helpful e-mail back from Karl - he does wedge gauge rings along with a lot of other cool ally stuff (stalks/h.brake etc), but by the sound of it, the wedge gauges are set behind the dashboard 'slab', whereas Griff ones are flush with the dash - so the wedge ones have a lip to push-fit into the hole in the dash - I will have to file or machine off the lip on the back of the ring, then use some TVR glue (silicone gunge) to stick 'em on over my dials.
I'm not clever enough to give you a link to his e-mail address, but its on the wedge pages if you're after a set. Just remember, if there's a queue, I'm first

I must be even more stupid . The 'TVR Wedge Pages' (www.bress.freeserve.co.uk/wedge/links.html) has links to ACT, TVR, Leven, TVRCC, TET, PH, TVRCCNA & Tasmin Challenge. Which/where is Karl's e-mail? Or am I looking in the wrong website? - Streaky

PS - just type Karl's address (as in: karl@karl.com). The correct address will appear in the 'TO' line of the e-mail you sent him - S

A search for "Cordwell" in 'Members>Directory' produces a "No members fit the search criteria" message. Searching on "Karl" produces a number, but nothing like 'Cordwell' - Streaky

Karl's in the owners section on the tvr wedge pages. Follow his link through and you get to his email address.

He's got a very nice car as well by the look of it!
