Turbo Size for V8 Engine
Discussion
Hi I have a 4.6 Rover V8 and plan to use a single turbo. I have bought a brand new turbo Schwitzer and its bloody massive I think it has a 1.40 exhaust housing. Would this be usable?? Only looking for around 7-8psi. Just done a deal on another for literally peanuts, Brand new still in box.
Looks like they might be from a truck of some kind. Will look good on the mantel piece though if can not be used
Already have megasquirt to control fuel and ignition.

I'd personally go for an HX40 (Holset) with a 16cm turbine housing- brand new for £450 and capable of more power than you're likely to make.
If you want really quick spooling go for the HX35 with a 12cm housing.
Bear in mind though, that these turbos really get into their stride at around 15psi (although they're still pretty good below that).
