When you read 'of' just be the bigger man and substitute it for have. It is after all a forum. Grammar monkeys are making it tough going and interrupting the flow of the thread with the constant moaning.

It's about blooming time people woke up to the fact that we have brought up a nation of illiterates in this country.

They might as well learn their language here on PH as they certainly didn't learn it at school.
An Internet forum is as good a place as any for them to realise their shortcomings.

Sure? It's an abbreviation.
I suppose it's not a contraction though, so yes, point taken.

And no, I won't substitute Have for Of. That's not bad grammar, that's just wrong.

You've lost me with 'contraction', so I'll just quietly: yes

Overuse of the word 'like' really fks me off

Till is my new pet hate.

It's not "wait till your father gets home", it's "wait 'til your father gets home".

A Till is a cash register, 'til is an abbreviation of until.

That is all.

I'm not complaining about grammar or spelling (I suck at spelling).
I'm complaining about using a word which means nothing like the word they think they're using.

"Should of" is just not english. It isn't bad grammar, it's just wrong.

Pressurized instead of Pressured is another one. (Just to add fuel to the fire)

"Pressurise" is correct in some contexts - as in "they tried to pressurise the Shuttle's External Tank the other day but failed miserably".

Exactly. But people use it for.... "I'm feeling pressurised into this......"
