Rebuild after Rebuild???

Hi ,

been scouring this site for a while doing some research and finding out what I might be letting myself in for with Tuscan ownership.

I have seen an early car- year 2000 that has undergone a fairly recent engine rebuild - 3k miles ago.

Would you expect any future problems or should it go on for a good few miles if looked after without too many 'big' problems?

Depends who did the rebuild to a certain extent. I've been told by a highly knowledgeable and reputable source that I can expect the engine in my Tuscan S, built in 2006 and incorporating the latest factory upgrades, to need rebuilding at 45-50,000 miles. You should be fine for quite a while yet.

as already said, depends where its done. Dom's sagaris at TVR power has done over 30k no rebuild yet.

Apparentlyit was done at Austec?

no heard of hem before, has anyone had any experiences or know what ther work is like?

A friend of mine has had his 4.2 Cerb maintained and tuned at Austec for 5+ years and speaks very highly of them. They're not local to me tho so I've never used them

I use austec and I've been impressed, helpful and honest so far and did a great 12k service for me.

My 2000 Tuscan had a rebuild by TVR at 35,000 and then I had a second rebuild dome at Str8Six at 70,000 with various improvements.
I'm currently at approx. 88,000.
I expect this second rebuild to last longer than the first due to the improvements / modifications.

I had mine rebuit there in 2007, good company who know their stuff.
