As you are based in northern ireland, no nav wont be much of an issue - though on the mainland it would cause problems.

There are SE's avail at around £14K retail in northern ireland, so thats £13K straight sale. Allow probably £3000 gross profit, they'll want your car standing them £10K.

They will have £1000 to work with on the price of theirs, so they'll probably offer you £11K for yours, making that around £8K to change. Allowing for a bit of variance, i'd say £7500.

Maybe +£2000 on the value of yours if yours is a Sport.

Then I'd say 5.5 to 6 to change.

Let us know how you get on!

Went to look at it this evening, The car was mint, Just BMW serviced 3k ago.
Great going car, revs and revs and revs, felt great to drive.
Needs 2 rear tyres.
The only problem, and to be honest im not sure how much of a problem it is, is that the car is an Import
from Brussels i think it was.
It was supplied to the local BMW garage as an Import, for a friend of the dealership,
probably to save some money on it.
The list price on the receipt was £400 short of £40k with all the extras.
Will have a price to change tomorrow

Any ideas on the Import factor?

Wel he called me back today and wanted 10k, yes 10k to change.
I nearly fell of my chair.
Not a bat in hells chance is that deal going ahead.
17.5k or possibly even 17k would buy it straight.
Will prob try to sell my car straight and see whats on offer then.

Yea i genuinely couldnt believe it, thought he would come in around 7 to 'start' with
I put him over it again or make sure he had the right car and not a 520 or an se model ....
He said my car is retailing about 10k or 10.5k and i happened to be on the autotrader website as we were talking
so i rhymed of the cheapest one on there which was i think was around 14k with 30,00 more miles
to which me mumbled something which i still dont understand what he said.
Guess he was just chancing his arm.
He did say he would have a look at the deal again and give me a call back if he finds out anything different.
Guess i'll be keeping it for a while longer!

In fairness hes right - you can get a 2005 530d M Sport with less miles than yours for less than 10K....

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/BMW+...

Joking aside, the cheapest 05 530d M Sport with > 60K miles IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY is £14750

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/BMW+...

I would call him up and ask him to run through again how he came by those figures.

LOL , thougth you had actually found one and i was the one in the wrong !
Dont mind some people being a little out but he's way way off the mark in my humble opinion
He might have been chancng his arm to be honest, and may call back
I'll bide my time for a day of two and see what happens.
If he's had it for a while, which the price drop suggests, then he may well come to his senses
This one also falls into the £400 tax band, so its the easiest to sell on i would guess.
As i said i'll play a waiting game and if he wants to deal 'properly'
