Right, Cat is after a car and would like some insight as to what on earth she can get.

My mentality is to get a bargain barge as you get so much car and so many gadgets for your money however Cat lives down a busy road and finding big parking spaces is apparently not all that easy.

So the suggestions can be fun/boring/random.

P.S. You can also try and convince her to go for something bigger. wink

Thought you wanted to swap your car for a cat plus 3k! Was going to suggest the Rescue centre usually only want a donation! hehe Getting back to cars, how is your better half insurance wise? Does she need a lower group car to negate the points/lack of NCB or is it a group 20 find?

MX would be a good call, and you get to borrow it and use it yet get to say it's your GF's and therefore not (quite as) ghey as owning one. Other than that then maybe a Ka or even a SportKa.

Thanks for the replies guys.

John, your selection was almost identical to mine, especially the Alfa! cloud9 (she's going to consider it apparently!! biggrin)

Cat doesn't really like the idea of a cabriolet however an MX-5 is a definite candidate.

She has 6 years NCB, is over 25 and being a woman (last time I checked she was!) the insurance issue shouldn't be too bad.

Figdits, the 106 looks a hoot but I think comfort comfort may be an issue.

I thought you were going to hang onto it for a little while.

It's a lovely car! thumbup

Fraser, thanks for those links. The Clio was a strong contender but after the issues Alex has had Cat is a little worried about buying a duff one. I know it's generalising a little bit as we both adore John Ds example but it's made us very wary of buying a cheap one.

We have a few cars we're going to have a look at and I shall let you know how it all goes. smile
