I've got a pair of thick, full trousers and a pair of shorts. Now I'm doing a long road ride tomorrow (60+ miles) and the trousers are too think so I'm looking at tights and shorts - does anyone else do this? boxedin

I ride in shorts even when it's in the minus degrees outside, put it that way.

WHS. It's over 10 degrees out there at the moment, shorts all the way.

Agree - shorts all the way.

Cycled home from work last night & got in at 20:15 - still warm enough in my shorts

I always wear bib shorts with running tights on over the top in winter, but tomorrow I think it will be bib shorts with leg warmers. I guess it depends what sort of time you are heading out.

In snow and ice - lycra shorts, trousers on top.

Typical slightly chillyish winter/spring weather - 3/4 tights under baggies

Slightly warmer - lycra shorts under baggies.

Road bike - middle of summer - not planning on stopping where people might see me - lycra only biggrin

3/4's are great, only recently got a pair. Not as sweat as tights but keep my knees warm, which im finding to have a great effect on endurance and recovery. Been a big thread on STW recently about looking after your knees - I can see why now. They work hard when cycling, and mine were running very cold and I was clearly not doing them much help.

The lycra shorts are the best since they don't restrict any movement of your legs, but I tend to wear them on routes where I know none of my freinds will see me biggrin

Reminds me though, I need another pair of Endura XC shorts, another £50 ish grumpy

This may be a silly question, but does anyone know where I can buy a pair of 'baggy bib' shorts? Presently I wear my bib tights (stop at the knee), and a pair of baggy shorts over the top, but the shorts don't cling to the lycra. I'd prefer something 'integrated' if you know what I mean.
