Hi, I've been thinking of changing the head unit in my 330 Ci to, well just something better and upgradeable. Along with the speakers of course.

However, and this is what is holding me back, I don't want the unit to look out of place, because the BMW units just look right. I've seen loads of aftermarket units in other cars that just look plain shyte.....

Or is there another way ? Would a discreet amp be a better option ?

The discrete amp isnt that great an idea as there is no direct connection for an amp on the standard head unit. You're then into the realms of taking the speaker out connections and trying to convert it (with either limited results - Sony sound on top box, or very expensive to convert to a pure signal - £500+)

Plus you're then into spending quite significant money to do that, and pushing it out through standard naff speakers.

Yeah there are so many issues I never considered. I also want to keep my mfsw buttons. I guess its a no go
