Quite happy, it cost me £103 all in - needs some grips to finish and some cable tidy thingies but other than that its done. I scoured ebay/bike radar and singletrack world for new bits (chainset, chain, tensioner and disc brakes). Everything else except the frame was sourced from my garage hence the wacky colour scheme. The frame cost me a few beers as it has been repaired - gasp i hear you say, but it has been done by someone who knows a bit about carbon fibre so it should be ok. It will be used for local rides, and as a hack/pub bike mainly, nothing too stupid because of the repair. Should be a laugh for the summer though. Eventually might get round to looking for some carbon riser bars and a new stem.

It is a bit of an experiment too as I know a lot of cycling people wont go near a carbon frame on a MTB saying they are too weak, and i guess you could argue that this one broke but I think an ally one would have under similar circumstances. I would like to show people the other side to carbon, and that is that it can be repaired (you can just see the drive side seat stay is the offending article) if you know what you are doing. I am quite hard on my bikes so I'll let you know if it breaks (really really hope it doesnt).

looks the dogs!

Big fan of singlespeed having converted an old rigid kona recently. I love the challenge esp doing route that you normally find ok on your normal steed - because a real man challenge (recently did Llandegla, all blacks in a stop watch time of 1.37)!

Thanks guys. Have shortened the chain now as I hadnt got the chain line quite right last night. Looks a bit better with minimal chain now.

Hi GB bird. I bought the blue chain off ebay for £6.99 from rutland cycling. Probably not the cheapest of cheap options but I kind of like it and it seems to work ok. It is quite heavy though. They have various different colours.

Green:

Red:

Hope that helps.

The chain looks like it could be shortened?
Your probably going to get the chain slipping and/or coming off.

Not sure if that particular tensioner can do it, but pushing up is better than pushing down.
