Can someone tell me when, as standard, BMW fitted isofix to the 1 series se models.
I have seen 2 now 54 / 55 plate without it, and yet it seems to be standard on a 3 series after 2002.

Can't help on all of them I'm afraid, but my 54 plate 1 series SE has it.

I thought it was introduced as standard with the 2007 facelift. That happened around March/April 2007, although there's no precise date as some pre-facelift cars were registered on 07 and even 57 plates, so just need to look for the facelift front bumper / rear lights.

Edit:
Having just searched, I think the above might be for the front ISOFIX, looks like rears were made standard sometime in 2005, but its a little vague:

I thought rear Isofix was standard on all models.

That's what we thought, but are looking to buy a 04 / 54 plate and some cars don't have it.
( Looking at 118d se cars )

Nope definitely an option early on from reading the thread I linked to above. Some cars certainly dont have them.
