For quite a while now I've been aware on an occasional clunk from the front off-side wheel, when I brake to a stop. It doesn't happen every time, seems to be when I haven't used them for a while when driving, or have been reversing. I wondered if it was some sort of "floating" setup that is supposed to move but the near side one doesn't seem to do it. Didn't mention it at MOT but it didn't get picked up on.

The car pulls up well with no problems.

Mine is doing the same. The pads were changed but the pack did not contain a fitting kit; so the pad is slightly loose in the calliper. The pad was installed using the old fitting kit. So when I apply the brakes there's a clunk, and when I'm driving it rattles a little. Could be a similar problem?

Something I need to get sorted but the car brakes fine.

There shouldn't be any clunks, none of my cars have ever done it so its certainly not normal.

I would try to find it if I were you.

Mine often clonks the first time I use the brakes when moving forwards having previously reversed, I think it's just the pads reseating themselves in the calipers. If it clonks every time you use the brakes then I'd investigate.
