X360 RROD - replace or trade up?
Discussion
20GB XBox 360 now displaying Red Ring of Death for the 4th or 5th time. To be fair to MS, they send out a nice new shiny box each time, but I just know the same thing is going to happen again. The other downside to the 20GB is that the DVD drive sounds like a 747 at take-off whenever I'm playing and there isn't space to pre-install games
So do I go through this again knowing it's only going to last a few months or pony up a couple of hundred for a 120GB elite? From a bit of googling, the only way right now to guarantee getting the low power, low noise, more reliable Jasper chipset through an online order is to go for the res evil edition that just got released, since most suppliers still have year-old elites sitting on their shelves with the old chipset

So the main question is whether I can live with the red case - thoughts?
(ps: have the PS3 and Wii as well, this is for those Xbox-only titles)

I quite like that mate, i really had no idea of this limited edition version. I'm considering of trading in my existing 20g 360 for this
On a futher note, that limited edition 360 will hold its value much better than its current predecessors in my opinion for when you fancy a change (Xbox 720?). Don't worry about the colour, it's different from the rest. Also the fact that there are so many hardcore resi fans out there, just see it as a potential investment in the near future.

Update - got the the jasper console and it's neat; if you've got an original 20GB box then definitely worth considering. It's quiet, it's cool, can pre-install 20 games so no DVD noise and MS send out a cable that does a 1-time transfer of all the 20GB content on to the 120GB drive.
The red colour doesn't look any more out of place than the white box did
