Has anyone that has had the Roush exhaust installed had any problems with the noise limits on certain track days. Having heard one I can't imagine there would be a problem but it would be reassuring for anyone that has been measured to confirm.

Thanks

I've got the Roush exhaust, with cats, and I only just scraped past the noise limit at Bedford last November. It was measured at 100.9db

I get the feeling that it depends on how old the exhaust system is. I did a fair bit of noise testing with Yellowshed a couple of years ago, and with a new system there was no problem either static or drive-by at tracks around the country. However, 2 yrs on I have been black-flagged at Donny (98db drive-by)on several occasions and have now got some quiet tail-pipes to see me through. These can be ordered through PiperCams who made the original Roush exhaust.I suspect that if the original exhaust was just re-packed it would be fine again, but alas no way of getting in other than cutting the box up.

I had a Roush exhaust fitted to mine last year with cats. I went on a couple of track days at Donington last year and got black flagged both times, it seems it was whenever i took the revs over 5k. One time was on the sighting lap. frown

The only other thing worth noting is that I have my air filters fitted in the forward position on the bulkhead, this seems to increase the induction noise and may contribute to the overall noise level.

I have since ordered a set of quiet pipes and will be trying them out on my next track day.

The last time I was at Donny I got 99db on the pit straight mic but was ok at the old bridge mike, maybe not revving so hard going up the hill ?
Got black flagged but was told to stay onthe right hand side of the pit straight and it was then just under the 98 !
