Hi

Started the removal of the gearbox and clutch out off my 4.5 today, so I can replace the flywheel and naff ringear!

Looks like I will have to remove the off side exhust manifold to get the gear box out! Has one come a cross this problem before, and what silcon sealer do people recomend for the replacment of the manifold.

Or if you cheat you can take the bellhousing off and rest teh box on the ends of the manifolds. wink

However if you feel you want to take the gearbox right out then a high temp black silicon sealant is fine. Something like Loctitie 5900.

Check out my clutch removal guide

It will help you out loads. No need to remove manifolds but dont support all the weight of the gearbox on the manifolds, I fear it is too much and it may cause them to crack.

The gearbox is so tight to the off side exhust the box will not come past the end! Matt at Sebrings warned me that a 4.5 has this problem, I presume thats because the exhust is bigger than a 4.2?
Any ideas!

Plus any one got a clutch align tool which will do the twin plate clutch which I can borrow!
