'Celebrities' on WRC coverage. Why??

Just watching the WRC footage on Dave and for some reason their new thing is to have irritating Z list celebrities 'contributing' to the show with the flanel shirt wearing presenter. There's some bloke called Sean Hughes who is especially annoying. Never heard of him before watching this but I already hate him. What on earth possessed them to start doing this!

I have said this before but the WRC and the coverage by Dave TV is the biggest waste of time known to man kind. Utter Utter crap, and I like rallying.

Not to mention you have people like Andrew Tinkler and Willy Stobart hanging around; two people who shamelessly self-promote themselves to all these Z listers in the hope of appearing even more self important than they think they are.

Out of interest what is it that you think is so crap about the coverage (ignoring the 'celebrity' thing)? It doesn't seem any different to when it was on ITV, and Channel 4 before that. There's deffinately not enough of it, an hour for each rally is a bit pathetic

With a longer program you could probably get away with more badly edited pointless interviews or presenters who know little about rallying but with only an hour it feels like your watching 5 minutes of pointless waffle for only one minute of entertainment.
There also seemed to be alot of repetition in the programs with the presenters concentrating on one factor and seemingly ignoring other equally relavent points. Almost as if they have little knoledge of rallying and have been given a bit of info by the director and they just keep repeating that one thing over and over.

Rallying is a fantastic sport to watch on the TV but Daves coverage makes it a frustrating experience.
Its much worse than the ITV.

I must admit that I have stopped watching it now so it might have improoved, but from the comments above im pleased I have not wasted my time with Dave's coverage.

Dave TV are letting WRC fans down...big time. Sean Hughes was cringingly awful. Since the WRC coverage was dropped by Channel 4, no-one has bothered to get it right. I think what they need to do is to have a team of presenters like Bob Reid, Nicky Grist and Derek Ringer, i.e., someone who actually knows something about rallying.

Did anyone spot the mistake in the WRC Cyprus coverage? They showed scenes from a previous ACROPOLIS Rally. Last time I looked, the Acropolis Rally is in GREECE!

I have to admit every time I watch the coverage it does just seem a bit rubbish but I can never put my finger on why, but all the things you listed sum it up pretty well. I'm just not bothered about watching it, but perhaps that's more to do with problems with WRC as a whole, such as lack of teams, total domination by one driver, and a lack of British talent
