Yeah, all good. It's certainly an eye opener not having people move out of your way!! The Ultima does have it's advantages.

I was up at Race Control in front of the Race Director after qualifying having to explain why I had all 4 wheels off the race track on the second apex of Russels.......8 time out of 10 laps!! That's why I gave them a wider berth in the race!!

Had a really good weekend. Went through the whole rainbow of emotions, from bordom right through to terror!!

Qualified in 13th and then had to go straight to see Race Control as I said above. Whoopsy.

So started the first race in 13th, row 7. Lost a few places at the start and then stuck in a hole petween the front pack and the tail pack for the rest of the race. Just like a trackday really - but with a mass rush to the first corner!! Finished 14th in that one out of 25 frown

Second race I started in 16th on the grid and after a load of peeps chucked it of the black stuff, ended up 12th. My best lap was 1.01 sec behind fastest lap of the race. Pretty pleased really.

Somehow I got tyre marks down one side, but I didn't feel anything??? Strange.

Worst bit? Hanging around in the cold.

Best bit? Being on your limit with someone else doing the same mm from your car!!!!

Hooked? Not sure yet. I'll give it another go next month.

I'll post the vids up over the weekend. Got some Lucky yelps in as people fall off infront!!!

Thanks Phil for taking the time to come have a gander.

And Simon - hope you like your car graphics!!!

A mid field position first time out isn't too shabby Pete - well done!

As you said, you go through a complete range of emotions, but it's not everyone's cup of tea - especially once it starts getting expensive!!

Value for money wise, even with a 'budget' club like the 750MC, compared to trackdays the actual tracktime works out VERY expensive on a pound per minute ratio.

Then again, there's no substitute for the on-the-limit close quarters driving is there smile

Just don't try it in the GTR hehe

I might just have to retire the Ult, now I know what can happen on a race track!!

On the whole - good fun I'd say. Just need to be a bit more committed at the start!

Yep - they were about 30secs down on me at the end of the race. Cornering good, straights bad....

Times were fairly consistent too, which considering the closeness of the racing is pretty impressive.

Good luck for the next race.

Looks like fun... seemed to quite a lot of guys spinning off for no obvious reason. Obviously compared to the Ultima its chalk and cheese, but are the MR2s really that much of a handful?

Actually apart from the obvious speed differential, the cars seem to behave in a remarkibly similar fashion. I'd go as far as to say that it is easier to catch the Ult and keep it sideways than in the MR2.

I guess any car driven close to it's or the driver's limits is only a knat's from spinning. I'd image if we had a field full of Ultima, the result would me much the same smile

Or could it be they just had a mirror full of LuckyP Racing!!! rolleyeslaugh
