Went here for lunch, since I was visiting speaker's corner, not realising just how good it was (anywhere that asks you how you want your duck cooked has to be...); thought it deserved its own thread. It's fecking great, definitely the best Italian I've had outside of Italy!

Been wanting to go here for ages but have not yet got round to it.

His cookbook is also extremely good... if you want to know about real Italian cooking.

Pricier than McDonalds but it's not super-duper expensive. Mind you I felt a bit of a tt cause the mate I was with had just been laid off!

If you search for it online there are supposed to be mega queues for reservations in the evening, so I can recommend popping along on a Sunday lunchtime, no need for a reservation the place was only around a quarter full...

I agree - one of my favourite restaurants in London - classic Italian peasant cuisine but done superbly well. I also like the decor and ambiance of the place.

They have a Taurasi on the wine-list which is half-decent value and, IMHO, one of the finest wines to come out of Italy.

Can wholeheartedly recommend LL.

I've been twice (once for lunch and once for dinner), and both times the bill for two was over £120 without trying. That's a LOT pricier than McDonalds, or do they have a special credit-crunch menu now?
