Looked like a lot of fun! I have an R56S and I love having a bit of fun through the country road. The whine does add something - is your car stock or have you got the JCW upgrade?

What an insipid sounding engine that is. Reminds me why I got rid of that R53. That and the poor build quality, although I'm not sure how that video shows a 'R53 kicks R56 arse'?

Haven't driven an R56, but I really like the sound of the R53!

It goes grrrRRRRRRRRR!, the growl getting louder and louder... Then, as the revs rise it's overlaid by the banshee waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! of the supercharger. It sounds wicked

I do prefer the looks of the R53 too - I find the R56 looks a bit swollen and don't like the rear - you can see too much suspension and the exhaust isn't as pretty... It's a bit like seeing up it's skirt. I also find the old interior better looking, though I hear the new one's way more funky.

Of the mk.2s, I think the Cooper with aero kit is the best looking edition, whereas for mk.1s, I like the standard Cooper S best.

i like the older ones too!!!,the newones look to tall,and do look ugly from the rear,and the sides not sure about the fnt yet??,but the headlights that stay down why the bonnets open is a good idea.

that's easy to answer, The r53 is in the right place "in my mirrors" to do so lol.

Done sprints in both. R53 looks and sound better, R56 faster and bettter on fule.
