As this has happened to quite a few people, I am interested to know a good way to rewire the two connections that typically burn out on the Lights Control Box in the boot.

What connectors are used, as the lugs on the control box look fairly small and how do I insulate them? Also, I assume I need to let in some additional wiring once I've cut off the old connectors and cut away some of the plastic from the original connector block.

Any pointers, much appreciated!

I had to do this mod a couple of weeks ago when my dipped beam packed up.

I drilled a hole in the connector plate of the control box and soldered a wire directly onto the connector pin where it is soldered onto the PCB. I fed this wire through the grommet in the hole that I had drilled and on the other end of the wire I put a bullet connector. I connected this to a female bullet connector on the end of an in-line fuse holder and then soldered the other side of the fuse-holder to where the insulation had melted off of the wire as it goes into the control box connector.

So far, so good!

Thanks! I hadn't thought of going that route, but it does sound a more substantial way to get the current through.
