glove compartment replacement

Anyone know how to remove the glove compartment cover - and more importantly where to get a new one? I have a Jan 2004 T350 with the magnetic catch on the cover. It was warped when I bought the car and now looking to replace if I can.

Mine is a 2003 model, so may be different to yours but all I had to do to take mine out was remove the 2 screws that are visible when the lid is open and then rotate the lower edge of the glovebox upwards.

This take a little bit of force to achieve and a slight lift of the driver's side corner helps to ease it out at the end.

Be careful putting it back in - just make sure that the catch clears the front lip of the dash before gently easing it back into place.

Not sure how to remove the lid from the rest of the box as that wasn't why I was in there, but I guess the solution will present itself once you can get at it.

I'm sure that there are another couple of threads detailing other fixes (including one where the hinge spring was swapped over to apply more closing force IIRC) - I'm sure that a search would throw them up.

Just 'repaired' mine, by removing the box and putting a sprung washer between the right hand side bolt and the lid bracket to push it back level (does this make sense?).The lid is now flush.

So, I put a sprung washer where the arrow shows; between the body of the box itself and the arm of the lid. I stuck the spring back on (as shown) and nipped up the nylock nut to push the lid to where i wanted it, and then i put the spring and the nylock nut back on the other side, and tightened it up leaving the lid sat flush as it was supposed to be.

'TVRTuscans', did racing green source a glovebox lid for you, and if so how much was it. Mine has also bugged my so have decided to do something about it!

Doesn't look to bad, but it looks worse in the flesh than in the pictures.

Managed to eventualy get it out! Purchased a new glass-fibre one from Racing Green and also reversed the springs for a tight fit. Took a bit of trouble getting the leather peeled off the old one but eventually ok. Not only does it now look the way it should, it doesn't pop up at every bump!

Ordered a replacement from Racing Green. £25+VAT roughly. Now just got to get the leather off the old lid and attach it to the new one when it arrives!!!
