Good courier for picking up wheels without bending them?!
Discussion
I've bought some wheels on eBay but really can't be arsed driving to get them. Has anyone used a good courier that will pickup wheels 'as is' and courier them nicely without having to get my seller to package them nicely!?
Coming from over Southport way (Liverpool area), to Leeds. £90 looks a reasonable price for the service with 'normal' couriers but no doubt they'd arrive scratched alot.
Any advice/recommendations much appreciated

For the sake of 90 mins each way I'd go and get them for peace of mind.
well volunteered that man!you can always rely on the kindness of strangers!

Well, key problems.
Z4 has no boot.
Partners Cougar that I am insured on has developed a slow power steering leak, ideally don't want to be so far away and it go fully, part is weeks away from USA... bugger.
Brothers Peugeot 306 Estate I'm insured on is now his main car as a coach drove into his Mondeo today, so I can't borrow that either

Bollarks.
Seller is happy to wait a few weeks so I have time to sort something out... is best to pickup myself I guess, will just have to sort a vehicle somehow (anyone know if you can get a boot rack for a Z4
)Dave
I'll have to see how long I can leave them with this fellow (said they are in the garage, just wanted funds for his replacement wheels) I rekon they will be ok with a few weeks more though.
At least thats how long I might be now until I can get over myself anyway.
Just checked the couriers and most want them wrapped, and since I didn't agree on that from the seller they might not be too keen on sat around wrapping wheels and so on for a courier to pickup...

not even for 2 hrs and a future borrow of the z4?
i would have been able to help as was doing leeds to liverpool on thurs but now flying out of stansted.
I've used Steve at Gator Couriers to move sofas, timber decking, garden plants, the contents of my office, all without fuss. He has a slightly knackered transit, but takes care of your items without being over precious. Not sure how his price would be for a job 'outside area', but he's probably worth speaking to.

I've used parcel2go.com and their clones for years to move wheels and other bits around the country.
Get the seller to tape circles of card over the wheel faces, tyres will protect everything else.
Get them to lash 2 wheels together with plenty of gaffer tape so you have 2 parcels.
2 wheels lashed together still falls within their max size/weight requirements.
Book collection of 2 of their cheapest rate (£8) parcels (DHL@home 48hr service).
Ding dang doo 4 wheels to your door for £16. Normally they turn up next day too. Just pray they don't lose one, as compensation is almost impossible to get out of them.

If its the oil cooler, just take it off. Its not needed.
Some good options here, I'll check a few out. The main issue really is as said, I bought to pickup so doubt the seller will want packing hassles etc... They are happy to wait a while though, so will see how it goes. Might get my brother round to lending his 306 HDi or even sharing the driving over there for a few squid
