Hey guys,

Need a pad that will suit a heavy car (350z) and hard braking, I mostly do trackdays at Bedford Autodrome and it's quite punishing. Not too concerned about brake dust but would prefer not to have pads that are similar to Performance Frictions offering as these did leave metal deposits on my paintwork.

Also not bothered by cold performance or squeeling!

Cheers

Just put some Carbon Lorranie pads on my Cerbera. Not been on track with them yet but a really noticable difference on the road.

Hi Graham, yes I've heard they are very good put I think they are quite aggressive towards wheels and body work! Make sure you clean them regular or you'll find them turning brown lol

Iv used the new EBC yellowstuffs to good effect (Audi TT fitted with Brembo Calipers) which coped with harsh use well after cooking redstuffs in 2 laps! Decent price too compared to most.

Ferodo do some good ones which we use on the Cerbera but cant remember which number it was, they were pretty expensive though! Pagids are highly rated if you are willing to pay top dollar too.

I'd stay away from ALL of EBC products, don't know if they make them for your car buy try Carbotech (they are actually english but they kicked off over in the States bigger than here for track work).
They'll be quite pricey but will last for ages.

AX6 for you (Panther Plus I think was the previous name).

Pagid RS29's are excellent.

I use them in my M3, and can't fault them. They work from cold, and stand up to anything you can give them on track.

Downsides are the price, and the amount of dust they give off. (And a small amount of squealing at low speeds sometimes)

I tried EBC Yellowstuff before them, and took them out after about a month due to them leaving deposits on my discs.

I used Endless SSS on my 350Z and they were excellent. Would also look at Pagid RS-29 which offer excellent durability for a track orientated pad.

Rs29's

pricey but good. fit them and forget them. abuse them all day on track.
I have fitted some cold air ducts ( hose fitted under the front bumper and directed into the splash gaurds ), this helps keep temps down and prolongs brake life and performance.

Another vote for rs29 yellows, expensive but work great last ages, guess thats why they use them in endurance racing.

I used to agree, but I tried some Yellows the other year and they are far better pads than they used to be. I never have brake issues, no fade and great performance for long runs on track.

Like a lot of things, a bad reputation is hard to lose and EBC rightly had a bad reputation but I think you`d be suprised at them now.

I have no affiliation with EBC thats my own experience, I`ve tried Ferodo track pads and the pedal feel is slightly better, but not twice the price better...

Thanks for the recommendations!

Rob, any idea of who sells carbotech in the uk?

Pagids are on my shortlist now.

Just got through a set of DS2500's found them pretty good, if a little grabby and susceptible to mild fade towards the end of their life.

A mate is running Yellowstuffs from EBC on his M Coupe. Having driven it on track I do think they were pretty good! Not as much bite as DS2500's but very consistent.

Has anyone heard much about Dixcel stuff?

I've actually got 'Red Stuff' pads on my MR2 at the moment, they really aren't that bad at all for road driving but I know I'd rather have the Carbo's on there.

Carbotech:
http://twosrus.co.uk/shop supply MR2 pads but if you asked him how to contact them, or if perhaps he can get your one's they should be able to. Very helpful and well priced shop.
Carbotech's are used in racing series, and on standard discs usually, definitely my next purchase !

I've found road legal pads d'not last the entire track day. Brands indy and Donington last year I used DS 3000's, Brilliant thumbup My Holden ute is around 1800kg with about 400hp. I run with different wheels/tyres on the track so changing pads is only another 5 mins (they are ok on the road to get you home and back)

define a 'road legal' pad?

I used ds3000 and they worked shockingly well but were hard on discs and squeeled a lot.
Now I use DS2500 and they are still good but not so harsh and don't squeel
