My Nephew is getting married to a Scottish lassie this Friday in Ayr. I'll probably take the weekend car, rather than the company eurobox.
Can anyone suggest some decent roads in the area?

Most of the B-Roads around Ayr are good.
There is a great section between Ayr, Tarbolton and Darvel.

Agreed - there are loads of good roads especially to the east and south of Ayr.

Just watch out for the average speed cameras on various stretches of the A77...

Great road betwwen Galston and Ayr and as the previous post says watch out for the Average speed cameras on the A77 between Kilmarnock and Ayr. Ther's even one bit now down to 50mph

Another good road is the coast road out of Ayr towars Maybole out past Doonfoot and the Haven holiday park

How did it go then? This is my neck of the woods smile We have some lovely roads, but even better views. From New Cumnock --> Largs --> Ayr --> Girvan etc etc there are some lovely roads, but be careful all please.
