I use Renovo but when I bought the car the previous owner had used boot polish on the targa top, looks awful and it'll never look the same again!

second that Renovo is great. Check ebay for bargains, I picked up £70's worth last week for £30.

In the past I have used Thompsons Water Seal (available from B&Q etc) to waterproof it again after renovating with Renovo restorer. It's cheaper than the Renovo waterproofer and you can do ya tent afterwards too smile

The autoglym kit works well. The cleaner foams a lot but is excellent and the proofer works well but doesn't seem to last that long. I've also used Fabsil to waterproof and that works well.

I use a tacky fluff roller from Wilco when the roof is in good nick. I only wash mine once or twice a year tops.

Wash it twice a year with ordinary car shampoo, waterproof it with 2 or 3 coats of Fabsil or Thompson's Waterseal. In between times I just use a medium/soft brush or the brush attachment on the Dyson. Aerospace protectant on the rear screen.

Check out my reviews. (I need to review these soon, but the majority of it stands) Except the stuff about the proofer, which I have recently used on my TVR and Elise and can say it is excellent after 2 coats.

But yes. Excellent stuff all round. Got mine from ACT.

Why anyone would ever use boot polish is beyond me! It's Mohair, not leather!

The Renovo proofer is UV resistant, so helps revent fading, which Fabsil and Thompson's don't.

Yep. Very interesting, thank you. Review
Maybe copy it into this thread or start a wiki about it? Useful information that'll get lost as a review - most of us only search the forums. Just an idea. thumbup

If your talking about old fashion boot polish in a tin lie wax, This car be removed very carfully with a top quality karcha jet wash.
On a very hot heat but keeping the nozzle a fair few yards away.. Get too close & you will get a extra sun roof.
If your loosing the black colour can be sprayed black if you know what your doing Then treated with a sealer for water proofing.
