mani did an article on the roses for uncut magazine this month. he was coy about whether they would reform and that is was down to brown/squire.

I thought htis was old news. They reformed last year and are playing at some on the festivals this year. There were on the pool line up for V but not been confirmed yet..

Just listened to the first track on Second Coming. Had forgot just how bloody brilliant they are. Saw Ian Brown at Rock City last year and wasn't impressed but def want to see the Roses if they reform.

I don't think it is a good idea anyway, and have you heard Ian Browns live vocals? hmmm

It's not true.

The rift between Squires and Brown is as large as ever.

saw ian brown around the time of his first solo outing at a festival. tbh i thought it was awesome, reni was on guitar and he had this old indian guy going absolutely nuts on this mad ethnic drum rig. very small stage and right at the front made it v. memorable.

thought it was unlikely given mani's comments in the mag. googling 'stone roses reform' also gives a news story for pretty much every year since they split!

What you have the 'Stone Roses' mobile number and they texted you say, 'Sorry not going to reform this year, maybe next year..'

Have some. Didn't expect that eh?

smile

Edited to add, the tabloids especially on a slow day print anything, and even just make stuff up. At uni we were doing a production project and we got our names in the Mirror by telling them that we had the next big thing - Mark Owen from Take That doing a big comeback doing dance music... smile
