Ok, I have been asked by a girl (a rather cute one too ) to spend some time with her while she practices driving. She has her provisional and is insured on her own car etc, but I haven't had my licence for 3 years yet, though I am over 21. According to the DVLA site, those are the requirments of the person accompanying the learner.

Should I just forget the idea right away? If we are stopped am I likely to be asked for ID and then fined for not having had my licence longer. Or if there was an accident would I be required to submit my details and then void the insurance?

Normally I would just say no, but her family treat her pretty crappy and won't go with her and she doesn't have many friends with licences in the area.

Any info greatly appreciated.

not sure about what would happen in an accident, but i can guess that as your not a "qualified instructor" you'd be in deep shite.

Steer well clear! If she infringes the law in any way you will get the same penalty - add on top of that the penalty for not being a valid instructor and I think you'd probably be saying goodbye to your licence.

Don't do it bra, you'll get hammered and if your luck's anything like mine you'll get caught...

However, you COULD give her a thorough cockpit drill...always useful and you can do it anywhere
