Logitech G25 wheel WANTED!

Hmm, cheers for the link, I've been looking about all morning for one. Scan works out at about £175 delivered, which is a bit more than I wanted to spend...
There are some cheap ones on e-bay, but you never know how well they've been looked after, or if they are still covered by the warranty.

They are very well built, you would have to be a real animal to damage one.There are some cheap ones on e-bay, but you never know how well they've been looked after, or if they are still covered by the warranty.
If the pictures look ok then I dont think I would worry too much about an ebay one, if they are daft enough to sell it then they probably havent used it much anyway.
Carefuly check the feedback and pay with paypal and you have some protecton.

Paypal doesnt offer any REAL security though - a couple of years ago when the Wii first came out, I bought one from an aution site (not e-bay) and paid with paypal. The guy selling it kept e-mailing to say he'd sent it, but never gave a tracking number.
Basically I was ripped off - the guy disappeared, and Paypal said they couldn't do anything about it. I've still got a message saying 'Your Account Has Open Issues' and this is about 3 years ago! Paypal said that all they could do was wait until the scammer uses his account again (which he had obviously closed down
), and they said they couldn't disclose his address, or find him through his bank details. Basically, paypal were totally crap, and I am still down by over £300.

Watch out for 'reverse' gear as this was what wasn't working on the second-hand one I bought (from a PHer, who subsequently ignored my emails despite having said it was working perfectly... ).
I actually lucked out on it as I called Logitech asking how much to purchase just the gearstick part of it. They said they're not allowed to do parts separately but to give them the serial number... Despite not being the original purchaser, it was still less than a year old and they honoured the warranty on it, sending out a whole new unit! Top service, and reminds my why I have so many Logitech peripherals - I won't buy anything else now!
And the G25 really is something else - it allows you to get totally immersed in the game and the feedback/accuracy of it is amazing. You won't be disappointed when you eventually get one!

...I've bought and sold quite a few things off PHers (some expensive stuff as well!) and never had any problems.

What a )....I've bought and sold quite a few things off PHers (some expensive stuff as well!) and never had any problems.
It was just irritating to be told, "Yep, it's working 100% perfectly," cough up the money and then find that it wasn't working fully. You might recall my posts ages back asking about the reverse gear selection and whether I was just being dumb.. Apparently it's the 'weak spot' and where most of them fail.
And it's crazy that Logitech won't sell you just the bit you need, either!

yeah i was checking prices the other day, seem to be about £50-£60 more than they were last time i looked....bugger 
think i'm going to wring some more use out of the DFP, until it breaks probably.
