V8 Vantage spitting and popping

Does your Vantage make little popping backfire noises when you change down? It's a nice sounding noise, but I'm not sure it's supposed to make it.

Any ideas?

yes perfectly normal ...have you also got Fuse 22 removed from the boot fuse box ? ....it sounds even more raw from a cold start then too

oh yes...i had the pleasure of a friend in an V12 on my drive a few weeks back, and the noise was truly epic ...those extra 4 cylinders make all the difference

I've wondered how to get my DBS to pop/crackle like the Vanquish S did when you change up/down and keep the throttle buried (I guess that was fuel burn on the overrun)... ?

I have the manual DBS - is it possible in any way? The only way to get the pops in the manual DBS is to accerlerate and lift in same gear...

Angel - I think you have sportshift - does it make the same noises as in the Vanq on overrun?

i have Touchtronic II that's different to Sportshift - TT II is a hard core automatic gearbox - SS is a automated manual gearbox

and the Vanquish S still sounds better i have to admit
