I've been thinking about getting some Silverstone SP12's but came across these today from ACT. They are about £200 cheaper but look almost identical.

I just wondered if anybody had them or knew anything about them.

Ive had some very bad experiences with copy(pattern) wheels..Ive been in the car trade for 30 years & would not put anything but top brand name wheels on any of my cars.. ie bought a brand new 353 BMW touring sport & put copy M5 wheels on it,,
Went down what i would class as a small port hole approx 25/30 mph. With a large bang from both wheel n/s it cost around 3K to put it right,, 2 wheel 2 tyre F,,,,cked steering rack & full geo check later & putting the original wheel back on , Car was back to normal..
If the car was going quick it could of been very serious not just to my pocket ,, Cheers stuart gold,, GOLD MOTORS BODY SHOP LTD

These are not copy/pattern wheels. These are the original wheels which Silverstone Performance buy in from Rimstock and sell with the Team Dynamics logo removed as SP12s (an option from the factory I believe). They are known originally as Team Dynamics Pro Race wheels. Used on many race cars and I believe the Touring car series, they are very strong whilst being very light. Very popular wheels and certainly won't be phased by a pot hole.

The rims do look good, but they don't half make your brakes look titchy. wink

What he said. If you have any questions I'm sure Tim at ACT would be more than happy to answer them. I have wheels from ACT and am very happy with them.

There are a few different Pro Race wheel's. The 1.2 are the one's you want.

They won't sell them without 'Team Dynamics' etched on the rim. They contracted the exclusive rights to Silverstone Performance for the unetched 1.2

If you order them normally they come with a fitting ring. For another £10 per wheel you can have them made to hub diameter.

I have them on my car. The lower weight dramatically improved ride quality and handling.

Go 17" all round for road. You can't get the SP12's in 17" rears, only 18".

Are there no advantages in having 18's on the rear then? I have GAZ Golds so I guess the rear ride height can be adjusted.
