Radiator Top Hose Rubs on Bonnet

Howdy folks. I note that the top rad hose (inlet) rubs on the underside of the bonnet. If this is a common issue, is there a neat fix recommended to avoid this problem? I'm about to pop on a new hose as mine is pretty thin on the problem spot...

In the short term, wrap the affected area in self amalgamating tape and apply plenty of Vaseline; its great at reducing all manner of chafing...once you get it sorted you can simply remove the tape.

My early MK1 doesn't seem to suffer from the same problem so I would suggest checking the routing.
