Silly headlights wont turn off

I wonder if anyone can help me with this....

I get in the beast, turn the key and nowt...dead battery...fair enough, grovel under car, remove wheel etc. sort out battery. Reconnect everything to find headlights are on. Check headlight switch, yup definitely off.
Scratch head...test every thing else electrical...all seems well except when you turn the headlight switch to the 'headlights on' position the wipers perform a single flick across windscreen....all the while the headlights are on. Turn on main beam (that works) and they stay on.
All very odd.
Maybe duff relay i think, so i check the headlamp relay and find it warm...digs out multimeter to find that the coil is permanently energised.
I remove the dashboard covering and disconnect the dash unit from the monster cable connector at back....headlights still on.

HELP!!!!!!

I need some basic information. I guess there is a control unit lurking somewhere that is causing the problem. I found a few under the drivers footwell, but nothing appeared to obviously affect the headlight behaviour (still on).
Anyone got a wiring diagram for this lot as the cables disappear into a big loom.

I've removed the relay for the time being to preserve the battery :-(

Have a look at "mytuscan.co.uk" has the schematics on there.
Will try and email them to you but away on business at the mo and internet connection is not that brill.

I'm talking rubbish, just looked on above site and its not on their as you probably already know, and to make matters worse it's the engine schematic that I have not the main harness

Hi Steve

Thx anyway....that site was my first port of call when i had the problem. At the moment i'm working through the wiring harness figuring out what goes where so should eventually find what is going on, but its a real pain to do.
Oddly enough the horn has given up the ghost as well so now hunting down two electrical problems....

All sorted now...turns out to be corrosion in the fuse/relay panel shorting stuff out. Stripping thing apart showed it all up.
I've got wiring diagrams of the headlights and horn system in case they are of use to anyone else in the future.
