no dip headlights

Hi lads need some help if pos can someone tell me if the there is i single fuse for the diped head lights i havevtaken car to mot ,it failed on no dipped head lights took car home ,checked all fuses all OK side lihts work ,main beam works but no dipped headlights also is there a relay somewhere ,i have wiped all the ones in the footwell i amthinking i am missing something i have taken the lights out (bulbs out they look ok to me but eye,s are not what they used to be .,its just i find it strange that 2 bulbs would go at the same time any help woul be great before it goe,s to garage tomorrow thanks in advance paul i have looked at the bible but no luck there

The dip/main beam switch is a possible as it is common to both lamps. Never had a problem with mine but it should be easy to check. With a voltmeter see if the 12 volt feed switches to the dip position or alternatively disconnect your battery and measure the resistance of the switch contacts in the dip position.
